Students will first study how the figure is made up of simple geometric shapes and planes by working from a live model, in a studio setting. Rob will teach a system of figure drawing that includes rhythm, proportion, structure, and form in a manner that is easy to grasp for artists of all levels of experience.

Each class will begin with a lecture and then students will work on some short poses that illustrate a given concept, and then one longer pose that will last for the entire 2 day workshop.

Students can expect to complete a very finished figure drawing by the end of the workshop, as well as many short sketches and anatomical notes.

While students will be drawing for the shorter poses, students may paint the longer pose in oils if they wish, in whatever medium they prefer.

A list of materials will be provide upon registration.
