Hanneke Van Ryswyk & David Begley | Printmaking From Life | A Wonderful Weekend!

We welcomed artists Hanneke Van Ryswyk & David Begley to our Life room this weekend where they led a brilliant two day printmaking workshop!

Each morning began with a demonstration of materials and techniques; on Day 1 David focused on anatomy, composition, tone and space through monotype printing and Day 2 saw Hanneke leading the way with drypoint etching combined with monotype printing.

Looking forward to more printmaking at the Schoolhouse in future!

JASON ARKLES | A FIGURE SCULPTING MASTERCLASS! | AUGUST 2019

This August the Schoolhouse for Art was delighted to welcome master sculptor Jason Arkles to Enniskerry!

Jason, a highly regarded international sculptor, travelled from his adopted home of Florence to make his visit to our Schoolhouse for a five day ‘figure sculpting from life’ course.

The class size was limited to 10 students and each participant left our Life Room pretty exhausted, but with many new skills gleaned! Not to mention their own gorgeous reclining nude, ready to be fired!

We can’t wait to have Jason back for another brilliant course!
