MEET CHAD FISHER
Charlotte Colby Danly Sculpture Chair | Director of Sculpture
Lyme Academy of Fine Arts
Chad Fisher is a figurative sculptor whose work explores the intersection of classical traditions, anatomical understanding, and contemporary artistic expression.
Through his studio and foundry, Fisher Sculpture LLC, which he operates alongside his father and wife, Fisher maintains an integrated approach to sculpture, overseeing each stage of creation from initial modeling through bronze casting. This process allows him to preserve both the technical integrity and poetic qualities of the finished work.
Fisher has created more than 25 public sculptures, including commissioned works for the Chicago Bears, Philadelphia 76ers, University of Oklahoma, Philadelphia Flyers, Pro Football Hall of Fame, Union League of Philadelphia, Special Forces Charitable Trust, and Philadelphia Vietnam Memorial.
He studied at Syracuse University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts before earning his MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art. His continued studies have included the New York Academy of Art, Janus Collaborative, Schuylkill Academy of Fine Arts, and Barnstone Studios.
Fisher has also apprenticed with several distinguished sculptors, including Stephen Perkins, Stuart Mark Feldman, and, most influentially, Gary Weisman. These experiences have informed his commitment to preserving and advancing classical sculptural principles within contemporary figurative practice.
He currently serves as the Charlotte Colby Danly Sculpture Chair and Director of Sculpture at Lyme Academy of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut.
