aBOUT THE WORKSHOP
Join artist Brígh Strawbridge for a two day workshop which will focus on learning how to paint water in its many forms. Each participant can choose their own specific source of inspiration centered around water; for example it could be a seascape, a flowing river, water in a vase with flowers etc.
You will learn brush and blending techniques, how to use colour theory to your advantage in both composition and building your palette, alla prima painting skills, how and when to use added mediums without white spirits and much more. Brígh will also discuss how to best utilise your materials including information on which brushes to use for each stage of painting and brush maintenance and care with eco friendly cleaners.
The workshop will focus on both the goals of the group as well as the individual; one to one guidance will be given throughout the workshop along with demonstrations for the whole group. Based on your approach Brígh will be able to assist you in identifying your own potential painting style and which methods might particularly suit your unique ability.
All levels are welcome.
Students will bring their own materials and while oils are the primary medium for this class students may use acrylics for some initial layers if desired. This workshop will help you to develop your painting skills and gain confidence in your painting practice.
