ABOUT THIS COURSE

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the technique of Reduction Relief printing. Participants will gain a fundamental but thorough knowledge and understanding in achieving technically proficient results with this technique. By the end, achieving an edition of multi-layer relief prints. Participants will learn how to deconstruct and prepare their ideas and works for transfer onto lino block, various carving techniques, inking, printing with precise registration and factors to consider while running a reduction relief edition.

About Justin

Justin received his MA in printmaking from the Royal College of Art London (2011) and acquired BA in printmaking from the National College of Art and Design in Ireland (2009).

Larkin’s art practice utilises a variety of media which include painting, sculpture, print, book arts and installation. Themes related to time, place, narrative, sense and understanding, as well as themes of nature and technology. Larkin’s works are often imbued with a quite sense and stillness or emptiness accentuated with an emphasis on nature.

He currently lives and works in Ireland.
