aBOUT THE WORKSHOP
The course is an introduction to plein air painting and aims to help students gain the confidence to paint outside. The course will run over two days in the village of Enniskerry, using the Schoolhouse as a base.
On the morning of the first day, students will be shown how to use plein-air equipment and watch a demonstration. In the afternoon students will paint around the village and be given individual tuition.
The second day, students will paint around the village with individual tuition. At the end of the course, students should have a good understanding of plein air painting.

Key techniques for painting outdoors, learned through a live demonstration.
Practical experience painting in a village environment with real-time lighting and weather.
Personalized feedback and guidance to improve your outdoor painting skills.
Confidence to paint independently outside by the end of the two-day course.

Medium of your choice: acrylics, oils, watercolours, etc.
An easel: a tripod, a French easel, etc., or a simple board to attach artwork to.
Small canvas boards such as 6x8 inches or 10x14 inches or watercolour / drawing paper.
If you wish to sit while painting a camping chair is ideal
Appropriate clothing.
Drinking water.
